| Tiburon
Tiburon
(Spanish for shark) is a quaint New England-style coastal
village . Incorporated in 1964,
Tiburon
shares a downtown and many amenities with Belvedere, and
like Belvedere, it's also one of the wealthiest communities
in the Bay Area. Tiburon is an exclusive community with
tennis and yacht clubs, parks, bike paths, a movie theatre
and a wildlife sanctuary. Its short Main Street is lined
with pricey boutiques, souvenir shops and trendy restaurants
with incredible views. The tiny downtown feels like a movie
set, and some of the stores were designed to look like the
California gold country. Tiburon also offers several recreational
opportunities. The 19 acre Paradise Beach Park offers picnic
sites, a sandy beach and a fishing pier, and the Tiburon
Uplands Nature Preserve is a 24 acre wooded upland preserve.
Tiburon is a popular tourist destination, and downtown gets
crammed with visitors during the summer weekends.
